Hon.-Prof BrigitteTampin is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and works as an Advanced Scope Physiotherapist at the Neurosurgery Spinal Clinic, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Western Australia, assessing patients with spinal pain to determine appropriate management (surgery/ conservative management). Brigitte obtained her Physiotherapy undergraduate training in Germany and her postgraduate training (Grad.Dip.Manip.Ther, MSc, PhD) at Curtin University/Perth. She is a clinical researcher, an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Curtin University, Perth, and she holds an Honorary Professorship in Physiotherapy at Hochschule Osnabrück, University of Applied Sciences, Germany. She has a strong clinical and research background in the assessment and management of neuro-musculoskeletal pain disorders and neuropathic pain. Her research focuses on profiling and management of patients with radicular pain and radiculopathy and the identification of neuropathic pain. She has published in high-ranking pain journals. Brigitte received competitive fellowships (NHMRC, Clinician Research Fellowship from the Western Australian Department of Health and Raine Medical Research Foundation) and research grants.
