Jenny Tigerholm
Professional Bio
Jenny Tigerholm has a background in engineering physics and is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Joint Research Center for Computational Biomedicine at RWTH in Aachen, Germany. The primary goal of Dr. Tigerholm’s work is to understand pathological alterations occurring in small fiber neuropathy patients by utilizing computational models. For the last 15 years, Dr. Tigerholm has been developing computational models of excitable membranes - of the peripheral as well as the central nervous system. In recent years Dr. Tigerholm has focused on developing computational models of nociceptors. Dr. Tigerholm’s model includes a wide range of ion channels modeled by Hodgkin and Huxley dynamics with a detailed morphology.
