Abstract Description

Institution: University of British Columbia - BC, Canada

Clinical practice guidelines were developed based on a systematic review of studies investigating the use of cannabis based medicine (CBM) for the treatment of chronic pain and associated conditions.  It has been accepted for publication in the journal Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research ( ISSN: 2578-5125 | Online ISSN: 2378-8763). Use of CBM in neuropathic pain is a key focus.  Articles were dually-reviewed in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. Clinical recommendations were developed based on available evidence from the review. Values and preferences and practical tips have also been provided to support clinical application. The GRADE system was used to rate strength of recommendations and quality of evidence. Fourteen clinical conditions associated with chronic pain are covered, each with recommendations, values and preferences and practical tips.  Additionally, other considerations such as mode of administration, dosing titration and drug interactions are provided.  The poster will outline the methodology, recommendations, practical considerations as well as values and preferences considered for each recommendation.
