Sensory profiling via quantitative sensory testing (QST) is a promising surrogate marker for stratifying patients with neuropathic pain and was even recommended by the European Medicines Agency. To make sensory profiling more accessible and applicable for phase III clinical trials as well as clinical practice the fiberASSESS bedside QST-protocol has been developed.This protocol provides an equivalent for all parameters assessed in the laboratory QST by the using easy to use and affordable devices.The fiberASSESS protocol as well as its development and validation will be presented here.
