Small-fibre Pathology has a Negligible Impact on Somatosensory and Autonomic System Function in Fibromyalgia
Topical Workshop
In this presentation, Andrea Truini will discuss whether small fibre pathology implies specific clinical symptoms and signs. He will describe quantitative sensory testing profiles and autonomic system function findings and neurophysiological investigation in patients with fibromyalgia. More specifically the presentation will deal with the comparison of these variables across patients with and without small fibre pathology and small-fibre neuropathy and will detail the differences in these three groups of patients. This presentation will also include information about the alternative pathophysiological mechanisms underlying fibromyalgia, presented in recent literature.
