Dr. Eric C. Leuthardt will present on recent advances in elucidating the neural correlates of pain relief, and how reinforcement of these activity patterns can be harnessed and reinforced in Brain-Computer Interface mediated neuromodulation. By framing chronic neuropathic pain as a disease associated with maladaptive changes in neural circuitry, Dr. Leuthardt will describe critical considerations about neuroplasticity, functional connectivity, and cortico-sensory coupling in developing novel neurotechnologies for chronic pain.
